I'm one who believes in the importance of using the services of a quality trainer to achieve fitness goals. I've had several experiences working with professional trainers, both with highly positive and not so great results. Jeff falls in the category of HIGHLY RECOMMENDED trainers because not only has he helped me feel good at working out again, he has exceeded my expectations because of the results.
I have been dealing with chronic tendinitis on my right knee and this had stopped me from getting back into doing workouts on my own and have made me very cautious at choosing a trainer willing to work with me on my injuries. Jeff has been awesome to work with at maximizing my training sessions without exacerbating my injury. We have both worked around strengthening my legs and upper body without worsening my pain.
In addition to our regular workouts, Jeff has also been great at providing me with a list of strengthening and mobility exercises that I can follow on my own. He also is very diligent at helping me monitor my daily nutrition, helping me lose over 10 lbs in about two months of regular training sessions. So far, I'm very very happy of my progress and my decision to have chosen Jeff as my trainer.
If you or anyone you know is looking to get back into fitness with the help of a professional, again, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Jeff to be the one to help you through the journey.

This review is way overdue. I have been training with Jeff for over three years now. Before I started working out with Jeff, I was really out of shape. I was overweight, diabetic, and not doing well. I'm not saying I'm in perfect shape these days, but I am doing a lot better. Its' all baby steps. These days I have lost at least 90 pounds, workout at least 5 days a week, feel stronger and is off a lot of my meds. I have a long way to go but thanks to Jeff working out isn't so bad. He makes each session fun and challenging. Jeff is a constant professional who truly cares about his clients. I would recommend anyone thinking about getting in shape, who is older, who has never stepped foot in a gym to give Jeff a call.

Jeffrey has helped me change my lifestyle. I have lost over 35 lbs so far and have a few more to go. It's not just weight-loss though, I feel better, I am stronger, more active, have more energy, and am more flexible. He doesn't use a one-size-fits-all approach that some trainers I've had in the past do, he tailors every workout to the client, he focuses on what is best for me and what will give me results. He is patient and flexible which is super important with my busy and often changing schedule. He also checks in with me on off days which reminds me to stay on track and I appreciate that because he doesn't have to do that. He is reliable, affable, knowledgeable, and I look forward to our sessions. I couldn't recommend him more

I have been working with Jeffrey for 5 years -- he is truly an exceptional trainer. I began dabbling in strength training in the mid-80's (ex was into weight lifting and then a personal trainer) so I know a LOT about personal trainers. I can unequivocally state that he is the "best of the best". He keeps fastidious notes about every workout. He encourages me to be in my body (...it's only a number). If I have a sore shoulder or knee he immediately switches gears and gives exercises that support the joint and encourage it to heal. He troubleshoots when I have aches/pains in my regular life (i.e. "Why do my knees hurt when I go up the stairs in my home?" Jeffrey: "Try putting your entire foot on the stair instead of just the toes." BINGO! "Why is the right side of my lower back always in spasm?" Jeffrey: "Are you perching to one side when you sit?" BINGO!) He is an excellent listener. He watches your every move (important for a trainer!). He switches up the sessions so they remain interesting. He texts me encouragement. As a result of his work I have a body that is strong, stable and looks pretty darn good! Our partnership helps me to grow physically and emotionally as I move through my sixth decade. I highly recommend Jeffrey and if you sign up for an intro session you will see why. I live in gratitude to have been guided to Jeffrey and celebrate our relationship with great respect and fondness.

Jeffrey is phenomenal! I've been training with him for the past couple years and plan on continuing to work with him for the long-haul. He's extremely knowledgeable, practical, and motivating. Unlike many other trainers, Jeffrey is really flexible and will create workout sessions for you to do on your own time rather than pushing you to buy more sessions with him. The prices of his session are reasonable and he's also really accommodating with his schedule. I'm super grateful to have him as a trainer - without him, I'd be totally lost and intimated at the gym!

I'm the type of person who needs accountability to progress with fitness related goals. I was a huge team sports person in high-school and saw a lot of that activity fizzle out during college and post graduation. I constantly get stuck in the cycle of working out hard for 2 months to get back to my target weight of 155 lbs and then going on another 6 months of little activity. As my back started to fail due to working late hours, and tiny injuries lasting longer than they use to when I was younger... I knew I needed someone to keep me motivated to maintain a healthy relationship with activity and general health and wellness.
Well, I was really lucky to find Jeffrey in my search. In the year that I've been working out twice a week with Jeff, I now sit at a comfortable 168 lbs. ( All muscle growth & recomping!) My goal when starting out was to gain 10 lbs of muscle, and Jeffrey was able to identify the biggest areas for muscle growth based on my body composition.
Jeffrey is extremely knowledgeable about the body, so much so that injuries that would prevent me from working out became opportunities to strengthen joints and muscles you wouldn't even think off focusing on. When we were squatting I pushed myself too hard and really strained my hip. This lingering pain wouldn't go away and after some trial and error we developed a plan to get me back to healthy. You'd think rest or stretching was all you would need, but really my gluts were so weak that it was putting unneeded stress on my hip joint.
Jeffrey modified our bi-weekly routine to focus on strengthening my gluts, while maintaining my overall goal of a full body work out, and I was good as new after a month of this new regimen. He's literally the perfect balance of a fitness trainer and a physical therapist. He brings all the tools to remove knots from your back, relax your muscles to increase range of motion during your work out, and target lingering pains to help you get back to action faster.
Jeffrey is also just a super chill person. If you're going to be spending 2 hours a week with someone, being able to have a conversation about your work or hobbies while working out is a huge plus. He's extra considerate when it comes to cancellations and even finds time to extend your hourly work out to make up for some of your time missed due to uncontrollable circumstances.
I could go on and on, but I'm sure you get the idea. Basically, stop looking and call Jeffrey right now!

I have been working out with Jeffrey for almost 3 years now. He has helped me bounce back from the birth of my 2nd daughter, trained me through the pregnancy of 3rd daughter, and now through the pregnancy of my 4th! I can't even tell you what a difference it has made for my quality of life as a pregnant person and in the recovery compared to the first. Looking forward to another positive birth and then recovery thanks to Jeffrey's thoughtful training.

I've enjoyed great success working with Jeffrey over the past 6 months. With two sessions per week and a nutritional plan, Jeffrey helped me lose 15 pounds, increase my strength and endurance, improve my muscle definition, and change my attitude toward fitness. I've never felt better in my whole life!
For a non-athletic person like myself, gyms have long been intimidating places and I never knew where to start. Jeffrey eased me into the whole process. He knows I have a life outside the gym, and that the whole point of being fit is to fully enjoy that life. He's a highly relatable and encouraging trainer who works to balance your fitness goals with a realistic lifestyle.

I have worked with great personal trainers before and Jeffrey Yu is top notch. He is tremendously knowledgeable and professional.
You will need to put in the work and follow his recommendations. The result are completely worth the effort. I am nearly 50 years old and am thrilled with how my health has improved.
In 5 months I have lost 15 pounds and 3 inches off my waist. I am stronger and running better than I have in the last four years. Just ran my first 5k this last weekend and I am on track to meet or beat the Military Army Physical Fitness Standards next month. Not visible, but probably the most valuable change is that my resting heart rate is 10 beats a minute slower than when I began working out with Jeffrey. A slower resting heart rate is a measure of good fitness and protective against future cardiovascular disease. (Individual's mileage may vary, of course.)
I highly recommend Jeffrey Yu to everyone who is interested and ready to take care of their physical fitness.

I've been training with Jeffrey for 7 weeks. So far, I've lost 7 pounds! My stomach is flatter, my quads are more toned, and my butt is perkier. Jeffrey created a workout plan based on my specific goals and my time frame. The workouts were challenging, yet fun! I walked out of each session feeling like a million bucks! Jeffrey stays in constant communication in between workouts and is an extremely knowledgeable resource for fitness, nutrition, and diet. Not only do I see physical changes, I have exceeded my expectations in lifting for weight training. I feel stronger than ever! I look forward to continue training with Jeffrey.
